Stockpile and midfielder Mesut Ozil has agreed on a fundamental level to end the German’s agreement a half year before it terminates so he can seal a transition to Turkish club Fenerbahce, The Athletic investigated Saturday.
Ozil, 32, has not performed for Arsenal since last March and was avoided concerning their Premier League and Europa League crews toward the beginning of the period.
Turkish media revealed recently that Fenerbahce would sign the previous Germany global, who has Turkish lineage, for three and a half years.
Ozil, one of Arsenal’s most generously compensated players, is allowed to arrange a pre-contract with different clubs as he is in the last half-year of his agreement with the London side. Yet, The Athletic detailed that Fenerbahce would sign him as a free specialist.
“Fenerbahce resembles Real Madrid in Spain. The greatest club in the nation,” Ozil said during an inquiry and answer meeting with fans on Twitter this week.
Endorsed in 2013 for a then-club record charge of more than 42 million pounds ($57 million) from Real Madrid, the playmaker assumed a vital part under Arsene Wenger in closure Arsenal’s prize dry spell, winning the FA Cup in his first season.
